IFIP WG5.15 on
IT in Disaster Risk Reduction
General
The International Federation for Information
Procesing (IFIP) has established its Working Group WG5.15 on Imformation Technology in Disaster
Risk Reduction to
-
promote disaster risk reduction (DRR) within the IT community;
- provide an additional opportunity for IFIP members to work with
external specialized bodies such as UN, UNISDR, ICSU, ITU and
ISCRAM;
- coordinate the efforts of member societies as well as different Technical Committees and Working Groups of IFIP in its specific disaster-related field.
Overall Goal

Promote a new research and practice domain on IT aspects of DRR and let IFIP take the leadership in this domain
